This is blowing my mind. I have old friend from high school named Kaska—she now spells it as Kasia—who was an international exchange student from Poland. Her name is the Polish translation of my name [back then, she sometimes spelled her name as Cathy]. A few months back, we reconnected via the infamous Facebook + she sent me this image of a letter I gave her 15 years ago. I'm surprised she still had it. :)

It was written towards the end of our Junior year, which was probably my most memorable of high school years. Kaska + I were in the same French II class with the lovely Madame Falt as our teacher. We were both active members in La Société Nationale d'Honneur de Français by participating + winning awards in written + verbal grammar competitions with other schools. Yeh, total French nerds.

Not knowing if she would continue attending our high school in the States or return back to her home in Poland for our senior year, I wrote up this note + gave it to her a few months before summer vacation. Yes, back in the day before email was a part of our everyday lives. Fifteen years later, it turns up on my computer screen. Quelle belle surprise! I also forgot about my beloved Boynton pad paper!

Thanks for sharing this gem from the past, Cathy aka Kaska aka Kasia! :) So awesome to be able to catch up with you + your adventures again.
