Slooow.

Today work is surprisingly a little slow. So, I've been reading this blog type site that involves Darth Vader comics [link c/o my sis]. It's more 'cute' than funny. It's definitely got that children's book 'cute' feel to it. I love the cover graphic at the top of the page, that's one thing for sure. The illustration style is fab as well. [Look at me, I just used the word 'fab'.]

Speaking of Darth... Joshua's grandparents visited DC for a week. They were part of a tour that took care of everything for them--room, board, transportation. On Friday, they wanted to meet up while they were in town so we went out for dinner in Crystal City where they stayed. [And don't worry, my Darth point will come up soon.] What's neat is that they took us through this underground city where they had shops + restaurants at the end of this long walkway. It was definitely a lot better than Atlanta's Underground--a lot cleaner, too. We ended up eating at some bar + grill place, which wasn't that good unfortunately. Even their dessert was disappointing. I mean, how can you mess up dessert?

Anyway, after dinner we drove them to our part of town so that they could see our apartment + the furniture they gave us after the wedding that Joshua painted DIY style. They liked our place a lot + the converted furniture. Afterwards, we took them to the roof to see our awesome view at night, then drove them to the National Cathedral since they wanted to see it at night as well. This *finally* brings me to my point. GET THIS: Joshua's grandpa mentioned that one of the cathedral's gargoyles was Darth Vader. We completely did not believe him + thought he was trying to pull one on us [since he is known to be a wisecrack sometimes]. He said, "No, I'm serious!" + went on to explain. So, the day after Joshua + I decided to investigate in the matter... online, of course. This is what Joshua found: click here. It's just too bad that we can't see it from the ground due to construction that is blocking the side where we can see it. So, I don't believe him until I see it with mine own eyes, haha. Apparently, George Lucas was going to sue the builders until he heard it was part of a contest for kids to decide what three of the gargoyles were going to be. One was M.L. King, don't know what the other one was, + the third one was Darth Vader. I thought this random bit of information was so hilarious.

In other news, I'm actually going to experience the changing of the seasons--all four of them! Excited about that. The leaves are starting to change colours + fall onto the ground. Lately, I've been collecting acorns like a squirrel. The acorns grow huge up here. About an inch long. I'm going to send them to my friends as keepsakes from the city. ^_^

That's it for now. Time for lunch.
